We're Online!

Hello! And welcome to blog of the Tumaini Children's Center in Nyeri, Kenya. At this children's home, over 170 children, aged 7-21, live and attend school.

Here, you can read about the experiences of those who live at this children's home from their personal stories, pictures, and writing. This is the first time that these children's voice has been published on the internet, so we strongly encourage any comments! Thank you for reading!

Hi Tumaini Kids!

I enjoy reading about your life from Claire and Lara's blog, and now from your very own!

I live in Pittsburgh, PA, but I have a friend here from Kenya. He used to call me Chebet for my Kenyan name-what does that mean?! (I really don't know, so hopefully it doesn't mean something inappropriate!)

Keep writing! Your entries are great.

Hello to all the Tumaini children!

I love your postings on the blog and keep up the good work and all your sports activities. I have visited Kenya once and really liked it, especially seeing the big animals. I live in California and I am Claire's mother and I miss her alot but I know you guys are keeping her busy and happy.

My best to all of you. Barbara

What a wonderful idea to give the children of the, Tumaini Children's Center a place to express their hopes and aspirations.

Kids, all great art, actions, ideas and deeds spring from dreams. They are the bread and butter of the heart. May you all fly high!
